Something borrowed

So how many of us woke up today and smile, grateful that you are still alive. On the bonus side, you have shelter, warm water and food.

Have it ever occurred to you that in a blink of an eye that everything that you have could all go away?

I was driving home yesterday. I was smiling happily; in my mind was how grateful I am for everything I have today. I own a car! I can drive myself here and there without troubling others.

Suddenly a thought crosses my mind. This could all go away. I could crashed and damage the car. I could be injured so severely I can’t even walk.

Anything can happen and it is beyond my control.

I can only be grateful for what I have.

Thousands of time have I heard how everything that we have, is not really our own. If life itself is something borrowed, forget about everything else.

I remembered a story on how a man was on his way to a relative’s place and on his way there, his son, who is accompanying him, fell sick. This happens hundreds of years ago and the only means of transportation is the horse ride. So the days of travelling take its toll on the son and not so long after that the son died. The man calmly continues his journey after burying his son.

He didn’t cry, he didn’t regret the journey.

The man was sick himself. He injures his arm somehow and the wound started to get infected. Once he reached his relative’s place, he realized that infection has worsened till there is no way to save his arm. He has no choice but to amputate his arm so that the infection won’t spread to the rest of his body. So he went to the doctor and had the amputation.

Once again, he accepts things calmly and never once he regretted the journey.

He knows everything that he ‘owns’ (his son and his arm), are actually borrowed. If fate has it that he loses both, he accept it as it is and calmly continue with his life.

Life and everything else in this world is borrowed.

We may use it as we like but in the same time, we owe to the owner to take care of it and be ready to return it upon the owner’s wishes.

Who is the owner then?

KARMA

I am someone who believes in karma.

I believe that what goes around comes back around.

I also believe in “buat baik berpada-pada, buat jahat jangan sekali”.

Recently I read that if we cover the flaws of others, Allah will cover ours. In the night, when we do something so shamefully wrong and it didn’t being exposed, meaning Allah is giving us the chance to do it right, to confess our sins and never do it again. Bertaubat. That is the reason why not all of our flaws being exposed…
The merciful and forgiving Allah is giving us the chances to be good again and again.

There is this saying in Malay, “buat baik di balas baik” meaning by doing good deeds to others, you will get something good in return.

So does this means you are never sincere in doing something? Cuz sincerity basically means doing something without expecting being rewarded or such.

:)

In my own perspective, we must hold on to the saying, “buat baik di balas baik”…not because we are not sincere, cuz it is that belief that will continuously motivate us to help others. When, how and what do we get back in return, leave that to the Al-Mighty.

Kita tak tahu rezeki kita dalam bentuk apa.
We will never know what form of rezeki ours is.
Could it be wealth, or health, or happiness or any other forms that we might not expect.
Every good things, no matter how small or big, is a rezeki….
Even bad things, no matter how small or big, can be rezeki depending on how we see them. See them as something challenging, and it will turn into something educational, thus the lesson learn from it is a rezeki… ;)

In English, the synonym for rezeki is sustenance, fortune, livelihood, food, luck, income, means of living or earnings…this shows how wide the range of rezeki is.

So bottom line is, be good to others and the world will return your kindness… Insya Allah

abstract

The more i go through life....the more i realized how abstract other people's life really is to us..and how different our life from others...there are points in our life where it intersect with other people's life but looking at the bigger picture, we will see how different the two lives actually is....

A man enter a train-couch with his two sons. He immediately takes a seat and close his eyes. His two sons are literally bouncing off the wall of the couch. This create a very uncomfortable situation to other passengers....some passengers can feel their blood boiling up as the boys playing around noisily and bumping into one passengers to another. A glance at the father, makes them even angrier. "How can a man let his sons disturb other people, while he himself, resting peacefully?"

An old man, who is getting more and more irritated with the boys, gets up and take a seat next to the father. Instead of cursing angrily, he took a deep breath and say to the man," son, is everything ok?"

The father, hearing this old wise voice, opens his eyes and look at the stranger's face. He knew the question was asked because his sons are bothering the other passengers. He is well aware of that.

He inhaled a deep breath and say, "my wife has been sick and my sons havent seen their mother for months. Lastnight i got a phonecall from the hospital saying the kids may visit their mom this morning. They woke up so early today and get all excited cuz they are going to see their mum, whom they missed so so dearly.... but while waiting for the train just now, i got another phonecall from the hospital....my wife is gone, the mother of my kids has passed away...and i dont know what to tell my sons............"

.......

.......

.......

Get the picture? Can you see how abstract the situation really is?

Imagine we are one of the passengers.

Our first instinct is that how irresponsible the father is. As we get more and more bothered with the boys, we will become restless. Not knowing what has really happened, we would start cursing under our breath. We might even confront the father angrily.....

But suddenly we heard the story....now, how do we feel? Are we still cursing under our breath? Do we still think the father irresponsible?

Life is actually how we define them....with or without truth at that very moment...

The life of others really is an abstract to all of us.....

Morale of the story; Who are we to judge the father?....who are we to judge the others?....

Something light

So the 2 days’ workshop has ended.
I didn’t expect I will feel this relief, but I did.
I didn’t expect the relief cuz I still have tons of other things to do.

But I read somewhere how stressed is actually a choice.
You know how we tend to complain how busy we are with our work and such.
Like how we missed our lunch because we are so caught up in our work.
Or counting how many weekends we missed cuz we have to work.
Everything about this, we love to tweeted/shared on facebook/told to someone else!
Have you ever stop and asked yourself why you want to tell the world about all this?
Is it because it makes you feel important? Makes you look important?
Well, perhaps it’s our unconscious mind making us to do so.

Do you realize that most of that last-minute chaos can actually be avoided?
Do you realize that that entire burden can be eased through delegating?
Do you realize that through careful planning and sticking to the plan can actually help you to settle the work on time, without needing you to sweat over it in the last minute?

But then again, have you watch “He’s not that into you?” …remember when that bar guy (can’t remember his name) tell the girl that she loves drama in her life. He asked her if she loves to delay paying the bills till the very last minute, or how she loves to create this crazy scene in her head when a guy said he is gonna call but he never did.

What I am trying to imply is that most of us loves drama, whether we realized it or not.
Some of us didn’t, these are the group of people who live by the rule, pay the bill on time (or earlier), wear safety belts, didn’t tinted their car at all, never played truant in school and such!
But I dare to say that most of us didn’t belong to the 2nd group.
We belong to the 1st group.
It’s like we purposely caused minor trouble to ourselves just to spice up our life. ..right?! ;)

Which group do you belong to?

He said She said

It still amazes me how easily it is for grown-ups to believe what others said “bulat-bulat’.
But what amazes me more is how easily I forget that words are usually lost in transition (ker translation? Iskk)…
The translation will somehow change as it being transited from one person to another…. (that is more like it).
Being someone who always being accused of this and that and having a mom who taught me silence is the best defend, I should’ve known better.
I lost my cool yesterday when someone accuses me of spreading rumors about them.
I guess what anger me the most is that I exceptionally make it as an objective for me, daily, as to not talk about others (let it be good thing or bad), since my daily place is a very gossipy place, and I know how easily it is for words to get lost in transition (it is just that sometimes I forget this).

But come to think of it, it is true I’ve said such things. I didn’t go around spread it but I told one person close to me and it meant well. Too bad it was being passed along/received as something negative. When I get the ‘words’ back yesterday, it was being delivered negatively…thus explain my upsets.

I went home and analyze the situation again and again and once again I realized…love me or hate me for who i really am... don't love me or hate me for someone i am not ...

how easy it is to please Allah....cuz He is the Al-Mighty who sees everything and fair in everything....as human...we have our flaws...

So this brings me to my 2nd conclusion today, we can’t make people love us or hate us, it is their own wish.
We can be nice to others cuz that is clearly better than hurting other people. Tell me if you ever feel truly happy after hurting others… Tell me if you feel better when you can make someone else smile.
…exactly! ;)

p/s: oh well…what is life without a little bit of high-school drama…cuz we all still have that little kid in us….just wish people will stop drag me into their drama….mine is High-School Musical…and yours is…well, the one you are dragging me into, is apa nama musical yg psl nya bunuh2 org ya…ala yg that hensem man blakon dlm cita pirates of the caribean ya bah…yang psl barber ya….. yupp….that’s the one! ;) i wish you well sis...truly...
